How much do veneers cost in Cairo?

The cost of E-max porcelain veneers at Cosmo Dental Center depends on the case, with zirconia and layered feldspathic work priced higher and direct composite veneers lower. A full upper-arch smile of 8–10 units is quoted as a package after digital smile design, and the quote is itemised in writing before preparation begins.

What is the difference between E-max, zirconia and composite veneers?

E-max is lithium disilicate glass-ceramic with high translucency and flexural strength around 400 MPa, making it the default for front teeth. Zirconia is stronger (over 1,000 MPa in high-strength grades) but less translucent, so it suits heavy bite forces and posterior units. Composite is a resin applied directly in one visit — cheaper and repairable, but it stains and typically lasts 3–5 years.

How long do veneers last?

Bonded porcelain veneers show survival rates of roughly 90–95% at 10 years in published cohort studies (Beier et al., International Journal of Prosthodontics). Realistic service life is 10–15 years for E-max, shorter where bruxism, nail biting or poor gum health is present. A nightguard is standard advice for patients who clench.

Do veneers require filing down my teeth?

Conventional veneers require 0.3–0.7 mm of enamel reduction, which is less than a third of the reduction needed for a full crown. Minimal-prep and no-prep veneers are possible when teeth are small, retruded or worn, and are planned from the digital wax-up rather than decided at the chair.

Are veneers reversible?

Prepared veneers are not reversible because removed enamel does not regenerate; the teeth will always need some form of covering afterwards. No-prep veneers and composite veneers are reversible or removable, which is why a trial smile is recommended before committing to preparation.

How long does a veneer case take?

A full veneer case at Cosmo Dental Center is completed in about one week: digital scan and smile design on day one, preparation and trial smile mid-week, then fitting once the [in-house lab](/cosmo-lab) finishes the ceramics. Composite veneers are completed in a single visit.

Will veneers look natural?

Natural appearance depends on shade mapping, translucency layering and respecting the patient's facial proportions rather than fitting a single uniform white. We plan every case with a digital mock-up and a trial smile the patient sees and approves in the mouth before the final ceramics are pressed.

Do veneers stain from coffee or smoking?

Glazed porcelain is non-porous and highly stain-resistant, so E-max and zirconia veneers do not discolour from coffee, tea or turmeric the way natural enamel does. Composite veneers do stain over time. The bonding line at the gum margin can pick up stain in smokers, which polishing at recall removes.

Should I whiten my teeth before veneers?

Yes. Whitening is done before shade selection because veneers cannot be bleached afterwards, and the adjacent natural teeth must be at their final shade for the match to hold. We allow two weeks after whitening before bonding, since bond strength is temporarily reduced by residual peroxide.

How many veneers do I need?

Most smile designs involve 8–10 upper units because that is the typical smile line visible when speaking and laughing. Patients with a wide smile display may need 12, while a single discoloured or chipped tooth can be treated with one veneer matched to its neighbours.

Can I get veneers if I have gum disease?

Active gum disease must be treated first, because veneer margins sit at or just below the gumline and inflamed tissue bleeds, recedes and compromises bonding. Periodontal therapy followed by a re-evaluation typically adds four to six weeks to the plan.

Can veneers fix crooked teeth instead of braces?

Veneers can camouflage mild crowding or spacing, but they do not move teeth and cannot correct bite problems. When rotation or crowding is moderate, aligning first with [clear aligners](/services/cosmoclear) allows far more conservative preparation and a better long-term result — a sequence often called pre-restorative orthodontics.

What happens if a veneer chips or comes off?

A debonded veneer can usually be re-bonded if it is intact and clean; a fractured ceramic veneer needs remaking, which our in-house lab can turn around in days rather than weeks. Veneers placed at Cosmo Dental Center are covered by lifetime follow-up for assessment and adjustment.

How do I care for veneers?

Brush twice daily with a non-abrasive paste, clean interdentally every day, and attend a professional recall every six months. Avoid opening packaging with your teeth, biting hard bones or ice, and wear a nightguard if you clench — mechanical overload, not decay, is the most common cause of ceramic failure.

Can international patients complete veneers in one trip?

Yes. Because ceramics are produced in our own laboratory on site, a full veneer case is completed within a single 5–7 day stay in Cairo. The schedule is fixed before travel so flights and accommodation can be booked around confirmed appointment times.

How do I start a veneer plan?

Send three smile photos on WhatsApp — relaxed, full smile and side profile — and the clinical team responds with an indicative plan and price band. The definitive plan follows an intraoral scan and digital smile design at the clinic.
