How much do dental implants cost in Cairo?

The cost of a single dental implant at Cosmo Dental Center, including the fixture, abutment and crown, depends on the implant system used — Cosmo Dental Center offers Swiss, German and UK systems and most often recommends UK implants — and whether bone grafting is needed. A written, itemised quote is issued after a CBCT scan; see the full [implant cost breakdown](/implants-cost).

How much does All-on-4 cost in Egypt?

The cost of full-arch All-on-4 rehabilitation in Cairo, and of All-on-6, depends on bone volume and the final prosthesis material and is confirmed in a written treatment plan. It covers surgery, four to six implants, the immediate provisional bridge and the definitive prosthesis produced in our in-house [Cosmo Lab](/cosmo-lab).

Are dental implants safe?

Yes. Titanium and titanium-zirconia implants are among the most studied devices in dentistry, with more than five decades of documented clinical use since Brånemark introduced osseointegration in the 1960s. Titanium is biologically inert and allergy is exceptionally rare. Risk is managed through medical screening, CBCT-guided planning and sterile surgical protocol.

What is the success rate of dental implants?

Published 10-year survival rates for single implants range from 94% to 97% in systematic reviews (Moraschini et al., International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2015). Success — defined by Albrektsson criteria as immobility, absence of peri-implant radiolucency and minimal marginal bone loss — depends heavily on smoking status, diabetes control and maintenance compliance.

How long do dental implants last?

The implant fixture itself can last for decades and is often described as a lifetime restoration when peri-implant tissues stay healthy. The crown or bridge on top is a wearing part with a typical service life of 10–15 years for zirconia and porcelain restorations. Cosmo Dental Center provides lifetime follow-up on implants placed at the clinic.

Is implant surgery painful?

Implant placement is performed under local anaesthesia and patients typically report pressure rather than pain during surgery. Post-operative discomfort peaks at 24–48 hours and is usually controlled with standard analgesics prescribed by the treating clinician. Sedation and general anaesthesia are available for anxious patients or full-arch cases.

How long does the whole implant treatment take?

Conventional loading takes 3–6 months from placement to the final crown, allowing osseointegration — the direct structural bond between bone and implant surface — to complete. Immediate loading with a provisional crown is possible in the same visit when primary stability is sufficient, which is the protocol used for [same-day implants](/implants-urgent).

What if I do not have enough bone?

Insufficient bone volume is managed with grafting: guided bone regeneration for small defects, sinus lift for the upper posterior jaw, or block grafting for larger deficits. Bone grafting adds cost and typically 4–6 months of healing before implant placement. A CBCT scan quantifies available bone in three dimensions before any plan is priced.

Can I get implants if I have diabetes?

Yes, provided glycaemic control is stable. Studies show implant survival in well-controlled diabetic patients (HbA1c below roughly 7%) is comparable to non-diabetic patients, while poorly controlled diabetes raises the risk of early failure and infection. We request recent HbA1c results before surgical planning.

Does smoking affect dental implants?

Smoking measurably increases implant failure risk; meta-analyses report roughly double the failure rate compared with non-smokers, largely through impaired mucosal healing and higher peri-implantitis incidence. Stopping one week before surgery and for at least eight weeks afterwards materially improves outcomes.

Which implant systems do you use?

We place Korean, German and Swiss implant systems, including Straumann and Nobel Biocare in the premium tier. Each system is documented on the patient record with its lot number so that components remain traceable and replaceable anywhere in the world. See the [premium implant page](/implants-premium) for the full list.

I live abroad. Who follows up after I fly home?

International patients receive a full digital record: CBCT files, implant passport with system and lot numbers, prosthetic specification and radiographs. Any dentist worldwide can service the restoration with that documentation, and our clinical team remains reachable on WhatsApp for remote review.

How many days do I need in Cairo for implants?

Most international implant cases are completed in two trips: 3–5 days for assessment and surgery, then 5–7 days three to six months later for the final restoration. Same-day protocols can compress the first trip to 3 days including the provisional bridge when bone quality allows.

Will implants set off airport scanners or affect MRI?

No. Dental implants are non-ferromagnetic titanium and do not trigger airport metal detectors. MRI scanning is safe with dental implants, although a small local image artefact may appear on head and neck sequences, which radiologists routinely account for.

What is peri-implantitis and how is it prevented?

Peri-implantitis is inflammation of the tissues around an implant accompanied by progressive bone loss, reported in roughly 10–20% of implants over ten years. Prevention rests on daily interdental cleaning, professional maintenance every six months, smoking cessation and a restoration designed to be cleanable — which is why we contour prostheses in-house.

Is there an age limit for dental implants?

There is no upper age limit; medical fitness matters more than chronological age, and healthy patients in their eighties are routinely treated. The lower limit is skeletal maturity — generally around 18 for women and 20 for men — because implants do not move with continued jaw growth.

Do you offer instalments or accept insurance?

Instalment plans are available for full-arch and multi-implant treatment and are agreed in writing before treatment begins. We are an out-of-network provider for most international insurers and supply itemised invoices with clinical narratives accepted by Cigna Global, Bupa Global and most Gulf reimbursement plans.

What is the first step to getting a quote?

Send a recent panoramic radiograph or a clear photo of the area on WhatsApp and our clinical team responds with an indicative range and the assessment needed. A definitive, itemised quote follows the CBCT scan and clinical examination at any of our three Cairo branches. [Book an appointment](/book-appointment) or [contact the clinic](/contact).
